-- Rachel Burns (Staff Writer)

In the year 1912, nineteen- year- old Christy Huddleston leaves her home to go and teach at a one room school house in the Smoky Mountains.  When she first arrives, she is not sure if she will like this backwoods community with such terrible poverty, dark superstitions, and their fierce pride.  Despite all this, she learns to love this place and the people that live there.  Tragedy will question her faith, teaching her strengths she never knew she had.  In the midst of all this, her heart has been captured by two amazing men.

This is a book that will inspire almost any woman young or old.  It will capture the hearts of many people.  Christy has showed that nothing is impossible no matter how tough the challenge is.  It is the perfect story of love and faith.  This novel would have to receive five stars out of five stars.
