Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

J.K. Rowling

-- (Staff Writer)

The Deathly Hallows was written by J.K. Rowling. This book was the grand finale of the Harry Potter series. Rowling really showed her novel skills with this book. She first wrote Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone which was when Harry first discovered he was a wizard and met his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The book was a great success so she wrote Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. J.K has also written a book called The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Deathly Hallows starts off with Lord Voldemort and his fellow Death Eaters at a meeting. They have control over the wizarding world and the Ministry of Magic. The Order of Phoenix, which is still loyal to the deceased Dumbledore, is numbering off. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the run for their lives. Severus Snape is now the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry by the help of Voldemort’s regime. It has turned bad for Harry and his friends and all seems hopeless.

Harry and his friends have not given up. They ditched their last year of school to search for the remaining horcruxes so they can end Lord Voldemort. The horcruxes are Voldemorts scattered souls which he places in special objects so that he will be invincible. Harry’s plan is to destroy the horcruxes first and then kill Voldemort, since it’s the only way to end him once and for all. Harry must keep in hiding since Voldemort’s death eaters are everywhere looking for him and are now in control of mostly everything. Harry and his friends stay in Harry’s deceased god father’s (Sirius Black) house and use it as their hide out, but they notice that someone was there before they were and it seems that someone was searching for something. They also find Kreacher the house elf and they treat him respectfully. They later disguise themselves as ministry people to find clues in the Ministry of Magic to find the horcruxes. After being caught they make a run for it, but when they apparate one of the Death Eaters grabs a hold of the trio and finds their hideout. Harry and his friends have to leave their hideout so they make camp in the Forest of Dean, which Hermione is familiar with since she camped there in her childhood. Ron and Harry begin an argument at the camp and Ron leaves Harry and Hermione by themselves. The two become worried for Ron but they still continue their quest. Harry and Hermione decide to go to Harry’s parents’ gravesite which was Harry’s first time.  Later on in the book Ron finds Harry and they become best buddies again. They go into the Gringotts bank (wizard bank) to find any horcruxes and once again they end up getting caught but they manage to ride a dragon to escape. They also become prisoners in the Malfoy Manor and they managed to escape. The Trio has to find the remaining horcruxe which is in Hogwarts. When they are at Hogwarts they meet their friends and teachers who help them out. Voldemort knows Harry is somewhere at Hogwarts and he plans a war if Harry doesn’t turn himself in. Harry decides he will go to face him. Harry sees Voldemort and Severus are discussing things and Voldemort attacks Severus with his snake, which bit his neck. After Voldemort exits the room, Harry walks up to the dying man. He gives Harry a bottle of his memories before he dies. In the end, after all the horcruxes were destroyed, Harry fights Voldemort and puts him to an end. There were many loses in the war but were well remembered. Harry decides to look at Severus’s memories and now knows he was the good guy all along. Later on in years, Hermione and Ron got married and had two kids. One was named Hugo and the other was named Rose. Harry and Ginny (Ron’s younger sister) got married and had three kids who were named James, Lily, and Albus Severus Potter. They now live a happy life.
