Ryerson Winterfest

Kendra Allen (Staff Writer)

Ryerson Station State Park holds their annual Winterfest in February every year. It was held on February 14th this year from 8:00 to 4:00.  This year it was very cold.  For the first two hours it didn’t snow but then it started coming down hard.  Despite the snow it was a nice day.

There were a lot of activities to do that day.  The Aleppo Girl Scout troop provided materials for anyone who came to make a bird feeder.  There was a demonstration on maple tree tapping for anyone who wanted to watch. People could walk freely on the trails if they wanted too. There were many speakers there talking about various subjects such as rifle safety, and many other things.  There were also many games for younger children and a zoo came. The children were allowed to pet the animals and were taught a bit about each one. All in all it was a nice day, and everyone had a good time.
