Shutter

Stephanie Spence (Staff Writer)

I recently saw the movie Shutter. It is about a newly married couple that discovers disturbing, ghostly images in photographs after a terrible accident. Fearing that the images and the manifestations might be connected, they investigate and discover that some mysteries are better left unsolved.
Shutter is directed by Masakyuki Ochiai and the screenplay is written by Luke Dawson. The main actors are Joshua Jackson as Benjamin Shaw, Rachael Taylor as Jane Shaw, and Megumi Okina as Megumi Takana. This movie falls under the genres of horror, mystery, and thriller.
My personal opinion on this movie was it was dumb. It was just another movie where the dead come back to find the person that killed them, just not in the way you think. It was supposed to be a horror film, but there were only one or two scary moments in the movie, if that. I suppose this movie had a point – it just was not a good one. So, take my advice and do not waste your time. I recommend leaving this movie on the shelf and picking another one instead.
