Becca Lash (Staff Writer)

Wall-e is a recent film that should open the eyes of many people, showing them in a kid-friendly way what the earth is coming to. After many years of waste being piled up on earth, it comes to the point where human life can no longer function properly, and all of the plants have been buried among the trash. Therefore, the humans are transported to a luxurious spaceship, where everything they want, or need is satisfied by robots. While the humans are becoming less and less self-sufficient, Wall-e is left on earth to clean up the garbage.

After over a hundred years, the space craft sends another robot, Eve, back to earth to see if she can recover any plants. If she is able to do so, this will prove to the people that the earth was now back to normal, and could once again sustain human life. Once Eve arrives, she meets Wall-e and they develop a close relationship, leading the story on to tell of their adventures on earth together. Does Eve find plants on earth or not? I’ll leave that up to you to find out.

I personally felt that the movie had a good theme to it, but I found it to be a bit boring. There wasn’t much talking during the movie. In fact, the first 40 minutes didn’t have any talking at all. On a scale of five stars, I give it a three.
