"There are three things, after all, that a poem must reach: the eye, the ear, and what we may call the heart or the mind.  It is most important of all to reach the heart of the reader."  -- Robert Frost

You And Only You

Your Eyes Light The Sky

To This End

By: Kahlia Roberts

Close my eyes.
Close my eyes.
Close my eyes so that blood tears can fall.

I wish the wind will come,
The rain, the ice and snow.
I pray for eruptions of fire,
And may the elements of nature
Ravage the Land which we have made,
And tear down or creations
Tear them down.

To this end, the purity will return,
And the sunshine will sparkle,
On clear, warm water,
Bubbling over natural stone,
Over which brilliant emerald grass grows.

To this end, pain will end,
Suffering will cease,
And I will lay in the flowers,
Without fearing
For my future,
And the future of all I love.

To this end, let us all,
Lay in the flowers –
And let us release ourselves
To Life.
