I Would Die For You Brent and Deanna Higgins |
-- Ashley Lindsay (Staff Writer)
Written by his parents, Brent and Deanna Higgins, I Would Die for You is a gripping story filled with endless conviction about a young man’s life dedicated to serving the Lord. B.J. Higgins died at the age of fifteen due to an infection he discovered after his return from a mission trip in Peru. This book overflows with passion, but not your typical twenty-first century passion. B.J. was focused on only one goal in life- spiritually dying to self and glorifying God with every single breath he took. Even at the age of nine, B.J. was constantly witnessing to his generation, especially through school assignments. As he got older, he continued on with his faith and went on multiple mission trips with Awe Star Ministries. Although his family had to endure the pain of losing a loved one at such a young age, this book was written with more joy in the way B.J. lived his life than grief over his death. B.J. Higgins was truly an amazing young man of God. His story has encouraged thousands of people to step up and start living a life of complete integrity. This story is one that will be held dear to the hearts of many throughout their entire lives. It brings a sense of joy and peace as one is taken along on the journey of this extraordinary young man’s life. I Would Die for You describes the pure definition of dedication. B.J Higgins was a martyr. He literally gave his life for Christ. He may not have necessarily been “persecuted” for his faith but he got a life-threatening disease while serving on a mission trip, and nothing about that is sugar-coated. He simply lived and died for Christ, nothing less, nothing more. I highly recommend this book for anyone, anytime, anywhere. Whether or not your beliefs are the same as B.J. Higgins, this story is guaranteed to stir up something inside you. You will laugh and cry through all the adventures and adversity faced by B.J. His story is truly that of remarkable. I will not be satisfied.
