West Greene Elementary celebrated Read Across America Week March 2-5, 2020.  The entire elementary school celebrated by having theme days and by receiving Dr. Seuss school supplies.  The kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classrooms had high school readers read them a variety of children’s books.  Jade Renner, Benji Shaner, and Keri Shipman were the high school readers.   Some teachers invited additional readers to read to their students.  Some teachers and guests did additional activities in the classrooms.  Many teachers and students decorated the hallway outside their classrooms with Dr. Seuss themed decorations and writing prompts.

The first and second grade students and teachers read and recorded two Dr. Seuss books.  The first graders read Green Eggs and Ham.  The second graders and their teachers read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.  The kindergarten, first, and second grade classes enjoyed watching the books being read aloud by people from their own school.
