2019-2020 Prom Cancelation Dear Students and Parents, Due to the West Virginia mandatory face-covering requirements, the social gathering limits of 25 people, and the uncertainty with increased cases of COVID 19 in our region, the Prom Sponsors and I have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 West Greene Prom. The Prom was to be held at Lakeview Resort on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. This was not an easy decision to make, but we believe that it is important to be socially responsible during this time. The West Virginia indoor face-covering requirements state that individuals must wear face coverings indoors where social distancing cannot be maintained. The social gathering limitations of a maximum of 25 people also will impact the number of students attending Prom. We will be making arrangements for students to receive a refund for the cost of their Prom Tickets. That information will be posted to the District website and other Social Media outlets as it is developed. With all of the planning for the start of the 2020-2021 school year and other activities that are occurring at this time, we would like to be cautious with the events that students participate in so that we do not put anyone at risk. Thank you for your understanding. Mr. Sakai and the Prom Sponsors
