Recently, students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade worked in small groups to design, create, and test insect traps during STEM class. They had to consider how they would attract insects to the trap, how they would allow insects to get in the trap without easily getting back out, how they could build the trap with only certain types of supplies, and where they would place the trap in a certain room to be the most useful. Students created the traps and then placed them around the school for one week to test their effectiveness. The group that trapped the most insects caught 5 stink bugs. Congratulations to Elizabeth Darabant, Raena Tharp, and Arabella Scott for building the trap that caught the most insects!
