The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has recently recognized the West Greene School District for it's "outstanding service in child nutrition" for 2025.
This past summer, West Greene partnered with the Corner Cupboard Food Bank/GPCFB to provide over 40,000 free meals to children throughout Greene County. Through this partnership, over 600 kids a week received 5 days of breakfast and lunch supplies to help fight against food insecurity issues a lot of children face during the summer months.
A special thank you goes out to Brandy Melodia, Tiffany Collins, Ashley Walker, Tasia Tharp, Bridgett Carmichaels and Tammy Whipkey who spent a majority of the summer continuing to work in order to help make this program as successful as it was. Well done!
