Students in Mrs. Patton’s second grade classroom enjoyed a visit from young Mr. Patton, a teacher at the high school and Mrs. Patton’s son.  He and his family shared their love of making apple cider with the class.  The students got to actively participate in grinding and squeezing apples to make our tasty treat.  It takes a lot of work to make this wonderful organic juice. The students also got to discuss the importance of pollination when growing this nutritious fruit!  We later used the method of cider making in learning about sequential writing.
