❤️💛💙West Greene is excited to announce that our Kids Heart Challenge & American Heart Challenge Kicks Off – February 16! 💙💛❤️ Throughout the challenge, students will: ❤️ Learn how to keep their hearts healthy 💪 Discover the importance of physical activity 🫶 Practice life-saving skills like Hands-Only CPR ❤️ Help raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association The Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge are educational programs designed to teach students the importance of heart health, nutrition, exercise, and making positive lifestyle choices. Students also learn about community service, leadership, goal setting, and how their efforts can make a real difference in saving lives! The goal is to empower students with knowledge and skills that promote lifelong wellness while supporting critical heart and stroke research. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to build healthy habits, develop leadership skills, and make a difference in our community. On Tuesday, our 5th grade girls who participate in the ROX program completed a lesson on self-defense. Students learned important techniques on staying aware and responding safely in challenging situations.

The Invisible String by Patrice Karst was recently installed in the story stroll. Miss Jacobs, the elementary school counselor, selected three book and created the activities to accompany the book. The book explains the invisible bond of love that connects people. We hope that you will stop by to read the latest story and do the accompanying activities. If you have photos of your family reading the book that you would like displayed on our bulletin board, please send them to Miss Danley at danleyl@wgsd.org.

Mrs. Shannon’s 5th grade science classes have been learning about stars and constellations! Today, they got to create their own constellation as well as their galactic address!

Join the Community Foundation of Greene County at the EQT Rec Center on February 12, 2026 at 6:00 PM for a college and technical school scholarship program.

Student meals are available for pick-up at the WG High School today until 2:30 PM. Please visit the cafe door at the loading dock to receive your meals. These meals are for all children, regardless of age, residency, and enrollment.

We will continue to be operating on Flexible Instructional Days for the remainder of the week. Please see the letter from Superintendent Gaydos for more information.
