The West Greene School District will be delaying in person instruction until Monday, January 11th, 2021 due to recent increase in required quarantine of school and transportation personnel. Virtual instruction will begin tomorrow, Monday, January 4th and continue through Friday, January 8th. Teachers will be on site posting lessons and assignments to their Google Classrooms. Teachers may be contacted at school between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:45 PM should you need to contact them. In person instruction is scheduled to resume Monday, January 11th, however we will be reevaluating our staff shortages and local COVID data later this week prior to making a final decision. Please continue to monitor our website and Facebook page for the most current information.

The West Greene School District is still planning to reopen schools for traditional instruction on Monday, January 4th, 2021. Please note that we are still evaluating the current situation within our community and will reassess our return plan once more before a final decision is made. Please pay close attention to our website, social media accounts, and all-call messages in the coming days.

Picture Make-Up Day scheduled for this Friday, December 4th at the Elementary Center has been canceled. We will reschedule picture make-ups for a date yet to be determined.

The West Greene School District has extended its full remote learning model through December 4th, 2020. We will review the situation later next week to make a determination on how we will proceed after the upcoming Friday.

The West Greene School District will be expanding its Full-Remote Model through November 25, 2020. The district will evaluate the data next week in order to make a determination if another extension is necessary. Our new return to school date is Tuesday, December 1, 2020. The West Greene School District has transitioned to the Remote/Virtual Learning Model through November 20, 2020. We will return to school in the traditional model on Monday, November 23, 2020. Make-up Picture day for the JSHS will be now be held on Monday, November 2. Students needing make-ups will have their photos taken on this date. Virtual students will be able to have their photos taken by arriving at the JSHS between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM on this day. They will check-in at the office, and then have their photo taken. Parents/rides can wait for their Virtual Students to return to their vehicles. Virtual students may come within this two-hour window to have their photos taken. Order forms are available in either office.

The 3rd annual WG Elementary Braggin' Board is up and running. Any elementary student in grades K-6 who legally harvests any game in the 2020-21 hunting season can submit a photo to Mr. Painter to be added to the board. Photos should be no larger than 5x7. Photos can also be emailed to Mr. Painter at painterd@wgsd.org .

Elementary Make-up Picture day is Friday, December 4th. Any virtual student, student who missed our initial picture day or student who is unhappy with their original picture will have the opportunity to have their picture retaken on the morning of Friday, December 4th. Parents of virtual students are asked to call the elementary office at 724-499-5183 ext. 2311 to schedule a time to bring your child(ren) for pictures.
